Greenways & trails- connect natural areas with trails

Greenways connect people and wildlife to places, to nature, and to each other. In places where urban open space is a rarity, new recreational opportunities may only exist in linear patterns- along utility easements, roadways and other transportation cor- ridors and waterfronts. These paths make it possible to connect people to parks while creating more recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. They also provide an alternative means of transportation; protect natural resources; increase property values; and encourage tourism and business development.
