Regional export development plans

Fewer than 10 percent of all Florida businesses currently export, and those firms that do export often sell to just one country or just market a single product overseas. In partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration, Enterprise Florida manages nationally recognized pilot programs to provide support to small businesses for participating in trade missions and for developing customized export marketing plans. The Brookings Institution is working around the nation with groups of public, private, and civic leaders to develop customized metropolitan export plans. Southeast Florida’s economic development organizations can leverage these resources to maximize the region’s global opportunities.
